I dig this spot as a laid back place to grab a bite and do some computer work or reading. Nice wood table layout, a small bar by the window. Great unobtrusive playlist but not super slow. Some old funk in there. Very nice customer service.

Their bakery items are what you would expect at the freshest of bakeries. I ordered the orange scone and have never had a scone taste both this light and hearty at the same time. It was a melt-in-your-mouth delight. And they must use impeccable, top-line flour or something.

The New School of Cooking Café is a new favorite local haunt. The baristas are friendly and make perfect espresso. Also, the pastries (I assume from the cooking school) are too good. I’ve enjoyed the bacon scone, peanut butter & jelly cookie, and the cinnamon roll, all of which are delicious and priced right.

This is a super cool find of a coffee place in Culver City. It’s next to the New School of Cooking establishment next door. They serve Stumptown coffee roasts which I know is found in a lot of places all over town but it is one of the better quality third wave coffees. Not only that, the pastries and baked goods are made right next door at their cooking school so no hauling it in from other bakeries since they bake their own fresh daily.

What a great concept, open a cafe within the cooking school to give graduates of the culinary program a way to get experience and practice running a small cafe. They serve fresh baked goods daily and brew Stumptown coffee! The baked goods are made with love from the culinary grads and they deliver on taste.
